The LARS A-frame operates reliably under the following conditions:

  • permanent vessel heel to any side up to 5°;
  • permanent vessel trim by bow or stern up to 2°.

The equipment remains functional after the cessation of long-term exposure to the following conditions in stowed position (non-operational mode):

  • vessel heel to any side up to 15°;
  • vessel trim by bow or stern up to 5°;
  • roll with an amplitude up to 40°;
  • pitch with an amplitude up to 10°;
  • wind load up to 2000 Pa (200 kgf/m²).

Climate execution: OM1 according to GOST 15150-69.

2. Purpose

The LARS A-frame is a folding structure mounted at the vessel’s stern (at the transom) with a hydraulic luffing drive. It is designed for handling cargo and equipment over the vessel’s stern using an umbilical/cable-rope and auxiliary winches. The A-frame is equipped with one snatch block for the umbilical/cable-rope and two hydraulic auxiliary winches.
