1. General Information (Operating Conditions)

Design ambient air temperature: +45 °C at 80% humidity in summer, and -40 °C with wind speed up to 25 m/s. Design temperature for structural steel: -40 °C at 85% humidity in winter. Seawater temperature range: from +32 °C to -2 °C respectively.

The A-frame LARS is designed for the storage, launching, and recovery of a fully equipped workboat.

4. Additional Requirements

  • The high-speed workboat and A-frame LARS comply with the “General Regulations for Technical Supervision” of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) Rules and shall be delivered with the respective documentation.
  • The equipment shall be delivered with RMRS documentation certifying operation at an ambient temperature of -30 °C without auxiliary heating.
  • Electromagnetic compatibility with other shipboard equipment shall comply with RMRS Rules.
  • Auxiliary power supply for electrical equipment (control panels, heaters):
    • Voltage: 230 V, 50 Hz;
    • Enclosure protection rating on open deck: IP56.
  • Supply cables shall be equipped with mating connectors.
  • All electrical equipment shall feature external grounding bolts and cable glands.
  • All equipment shall be delivered complete with all required fasteners (bolts, nuts, washers, etc.).
  • Mating connections (counterflanges) to the vessel piping systems shall be included in the scope of supply.
  • Instruction and identification plates shall be in Russian.
  • The equipment shall be delivered with the manufacturer’s standard coating system, subject to shipyard approval.
  • Preservation coatings shall provide an indoor storage life of 12–18 months.
  • High-speed workboat A-frame LARS:
    • LARS type: hydraulic A-frame;
    • Main power supply: 380 V, 50 Hz;
    • Power source: ship network;
    • Electrical equipment shall feature grounding bolts and cable entry glands;
    • The high-speed workboat A-frame LARS shall operate via the electro-hydraulic power unit under normal conditions, and via emergency means during dead-ship conditions;
    • The electro-hydraulic power unit shall be mounted on the LARS;
    • The LARS scope of supply includes all components required for intended operation;
    • The A-frame LARS is designed and equipped in accordance with LSA Code requirements.
  • The supplier shall develop and obtain RMRS approval for all documentation required by the RMRS Rules.
  • Reliability requirements:
    • Service life before major overhaul: 8 years;
    • Total service life: 15 years.
