Design and Technical Features

The appliance features a robust structural steel design and gravity-lowering capability, equipped with a manual drive. Each unit is supplied with a two-year operational spare parts package, comprehensive documentation, and certificates confirming compliance with SOLAS requirements and the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS).

The unit is engineered to operate at a heel of up to ±20° and a trim of up to ±10°, while the jib design ensures the safe lowering of liferafts from heights between 1.5 m and 40 m. External nameplates with marking and technical data provide rapid equipment identification and condition monitoring.

4. Additional Requirements

  • The launching appliances comply with the requirements of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974 (SOLAS 74/83/92) with the 1978 Protocol, 1981, 1983, 1989 amendments, and the Rules for the Equipment of Sea-Going Ships of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, 2024.
  • Each launching appliance includes structural steelwork and rigging with launching wire ropes (falls).
  • The launching appliances are engineered for operation with liferafts and ensure liferaft deployment from heights between 1.5 m and 40 m above sea level.
  • The units comply with the requirements of Chapter 2.7, Section 2, Part II of the
  •  Rules for the Equipment of Sea-Going Ships, Section 7, Part XVII of the Rules for the Classification and Construction of Mobile Offshore Drilling Units, and the International Life-Saving Appliance (LSA) Code.
  • The design incorporates the requirements of Paragraph 7.8.5, Section 7, Part XVII of the Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Ships applicable to equipment intended for operation at the corresponding design ambient outdoor air temperature.
  • The appliances feature the following designations:
  • 01-US-2503A – right-hand configuration
  • 01-US-2503B – left-hand configuration
  • The units ensure safety during installation, operation, repair, transportation, and storage. General equipment requirements comply with GOST 12.2.003-91.
  • Materials and coating systems comply with the OM1 climate execution category according to GOST 15150-69. Subject to agreement with the Customer, the application of ISO 12944 series standards for C5-M very high corrosivity operational environments (marine conditions) is permitted.
  • External surfaces of the launching appliances and component equipment feature nameplates with the manufacturer’s trademark, equipment model/type designation, and essential data in accordance with SOLAS 74 and the Rules for the Equipment of Sea-Going Ships, 2024.
  • Spare parts, tools, and accessories (STCW/ZIP) and component equipment are preserved for transport and storage for a period of one year, as required.
