1. General Data (Operating Conditions)

The electric T-type LARS ensures reliable operation under the following marine conditions:

  • Design ambient air temperature: +30 °C with 80% humidity in summer; -10 °C with wind speed up to 25 m/s and 85% humidity in winter.
  • Seawater temperature range: +32 °C to -2 °C respectively.
  • Storage temperature range (winter layup): -30 °C to +50 °C.
  • Shipboard vibration.
  • Intermittent seawater splashing of components.

2. Intended Use

Acoustic trawl surveys, environmental monitoring, as well as near-trawl and research oceanographic station operations. This includes handling submersible instruments such as CTD probes, rosette and single water samplers, grab samplers, core samplers, and plankton nets.

  • Preservation coatings provide indoor storage protection for 12–18 months.
  • The T-frame crossbeam is fitted with 2 sheaves (for armored cable and wire rope) with integrated counters.
