Marine Stiff Boom Crane 1TX3M 3D Model Column

Column

(highlighted in turquoise)

The column is a welded structure with flanges for mounting the slewing system. Its secure attachment to the vessel’s deck and reinforced stiffeners ensure stability and steadiness during load handling, guaranteeing safe operation.

Slewing system

(highlighted in turquoise)

The slewing system provides continuous 360-degree rotation and beyond. Its design, based on a worm-drive slewing ring, gearbox, and electric motor, eliminates cable twisting, preventing wear and ensuring unrestricted rotation without angular limits.

Boom

(highlighted in turquoise)

The boom is a welded L-shaped structure equipped with its own electric motor to transition the crane from the stowed to the operating position. This allows the system to withstand increased external loads when not in use. In operating mode, the boom provides a 3-meter outreach and a lifting capacity of up to 1 ton.

Structure housing

(highlighted in turquoise)

The housing is a welded structure featuring a flange for connection to the slewing system. It serves as the mounting base for all key components: the boom with its motor, the winch, and the control cabinet. This layout ensures ease of maintenance and the time-proven reliability of the entire crane.

Hook block

(highlighted in turquoise)

The hook block is assembled from two side plates secured by threaded studs. Its design includes a rope thimble and a cargo hook equipped with a safety latch and a swivel. This solution ensures secure attachment and stable handling of loads up to 1 ton.

Winch

(highlighted in turquoise)

The winch includes a drum, a gearbox, an electric motor, and a reliable brake. The assembly is mounted to the main frame via a bracket. A high-quality braking system guarantees safe operation during lifting activities.

Marine Stiff Boom Crane: A Reliable Asset Onboard

Modern vessels are inconceivable without hoisting mechanisms. One of the most versatile and compact solutions is the marine stiff boom crane—equipment that ensures safe and efficient lifting and lowering of cargo on various types of ships.

These devices are utilized not only on large ocean-going vessels but also on small boats, technical craft, and auxiliary vessels, where operational precision and reliability in confined spaces are paramount.

Design and Operational Features

The crane is a slewing system featuring a boom and electric drive mounted on a pedestal. Due to its compact design, it occupies minimal deck space, which is especially critical for vessels where every meter of usable area is vital.

The core components include the boom and pedestal steel structures, a winch, a slewing bearing unit, a wire rope mechanism, and a control console. Electric drives provide smooth movement and precise load positioning with minimal effort from the operator.

Modern marine cranes are engineered to withstand the harsh maritime environment, including vibration, salt spray, and temperature fluctuations. The structure is corrosion-resistant, while the control system is simplified and fully adapted to marine power system requirements.

This solution allows the equipment to be used in challenging weather conditions, ensuring stable operation even in heavy seas and high winds.

Advantages of Shipboard Application

The marine stiff boom crane combines compactness, ease of maintenance, and high reliability. It is easily integrated into existing deck infrastructure without the need for major structural modifications to the vessel.

Electric control makes operations safe and predictable, which is particularly vital during loading and unloading in ports or at roadsteads. Furthermore, these devices require minimal maintenance and feature a long service life, reducing the shipowner’s operating costs.

Stiff boom cranes are in high demand on tugs, cargo barges, rescue, and patrol vessels, where a reliable and compact mechanism is needed for moving equipment, lines, containers, and auxiliary cargo.

Manufacturer

The production and supply of marine cranes are handled by Izhora Hydraulic Systems LLC (i-Hydro)—a Russian company with extensive experience in developing and manufacturing hydraulic and mechanical systems for the shipbuilding industry.

The company’s specialists perform the full cycle—from engineering to testing finished products. Each crane undergoes load testing and complies with maritime standards.

Upon customer request, the equipment can be modified for specific operating conditions, including vessel characteristics, climate zones, and installation methods.

Izhora Hydraulic Systems LLC provides reliable solutions for shipbuilding enterprises and maritime organizations where high standards of quality and equipment durability are a priority.
