Operating Conditions
The stiff boom crane operates reliably in marine environments under the following conditions:

  • Design ambient air temperature: +35 °C with 80% humidity in summer; -30 °C with wind speeds up to 25 m/s (Design temperature for structural steel: -40 °C) with 85% humidity in winter;
    Seawater temperature: from +32 °C to -2 °C respectively;
  • Permanent vessel heel to either side: up to 5°;
  • Permanent vessel trim by bow or stern: up to 2°;
  • Vessel vibration;
  • Intermittent sea spray exposure;
  • Sea state: up to 3.

The stiff boom crane provides a compact footprint, simplifying integration with other deck machinery and vessel superstructures. Hydraulic System and Control

The electro-hydraulic drive ensures smooth and precise movements of the boom and winch. The combination of hydraulic and electronic systems allows the operator to control all equipment functions with minimal latency. A portable remote control console with wireless control and a 15-meter cable provides safe distance operation while maintaining responsiveness and accuracy.

Structure and Vessel Integration

The crane pedestal is designed to house the hydraulic power unit directly on the structure or inside the housing when no barbet is used. This reduces installation complexity and simplifies maintenance. The boom tip is equipped with a high-output floodlight to support operations in low-light conditions. The pedestal design allows for the installation of additional maintenance features, extending crane functionality without modifying the base design.

Ergonomics and Operational Safety

Control interfaces and soft-start systems are arranged to minimize dynamic loads on the structure and stabilize load movement during vessel heel and trim. Instruction plates, warning signs, and visual information elements are provided in Russian, simplifying crew operation and reducing the risk of human error.

4. Additional Requirements

  • All electrical equipment installed on the open deck has a protection rating of at least IP56; inside interior spaces, at least IP44.
  • All materials are resistant to operating temperature ranges (-30 °C to +25 °C).
  • All equipment within the scope of supply features counter-connections for system piping. All ports on the equipment are fitted with standard blanks.
  • Instruction plates, warning signs and labels, mimic diagrams, etc., are provided in Russian.
  • The crane pedestal design allows for the welding of bitting elements and a maintenance platform.
  • The electric drive is equipped with a soft-start or stepped-start device.
  • Coating: the coating system and color are subject to approval by the Customer.
  • Oil heating in the tank.

Notes:

If the stiff boom crane is supplied with a barbet, the hydraulic power unit is located inside the barbet. If supplied without a barbet, the hydraulic power unit is remote and located inside the vessel hull.
